Freeman of the City - History and Honourees
History
Established in 1950, Bathurst’s Freeman of the City Award is an honorary title reserved to recognize individuals who have made significant contributions to the community.
It is the municipality’s highest form of recognition and acknowledgement for achievement of distinction, recognition and acknowledgement when someone put their life at risk to save another and a recognition of local heroes.
