What is my tax rate?

Residents of the City of Bathurst are only ever charged for services they receive. This remains true for the new residents who joined the City of Bathurst in 2023 ("Ward 2").

Property tax in New Brunswick is calculated using a centralized system where the province assesses property values and collects taxes. The municipal tax rate found below is applied per $100 of assessed property value.

Owner-occupied municipal property taxes are generally determined by this formula:

(Assessed Value / 100) * Combined Tax Rate = Annual Property Tax
