Meet Our Leadership Team:


Chief Guy Theriault: Chief Theriault is a seasoned law enforcement professional with 25 years of experience at the RCMP. His expertise encompasses management, organized crime investigations, and international policing. He is fluent in both English and French and leads the Bathurst Police Force with a dedication to community service.

Deputy Chief Roger Melanson: D/C Melanson has dedicated his entire 23-year career to the Bathurst Police Force. His expertise covers a wide range of areas, including patrol duties, drug enforcement, criminal intelligence gathering, and criminal investigations.

Inspector Julie Daigle: Insp. Daigle is the first woman in the history of the Bathurst Police Force to be promoted to a management position. After graduating from the Atlantic Police Academy in 2009, she rose through the ranks and now oversees police operations. Inspector Daigle is a strong advocate for diversity in policing. She encourages women and minorities to consider a rewarding career serving their community.

A: Starting salaries for Constables at the Bathurst Police Force are competitive, ranging from $71,260.80 to $102,419.20 within your first four years. These salaries are subject to further increases based on the collective agreement between the Bathurst Police Association and the City of Bathurst.

A: New officers typically join our patrol section and work a rotating shift schedule. This involves two, 12-hour day shifts followed by two, 12-hour night shifts. After this four-shift cycle, you'll be off duty for four days.
