Cloudy water and splash pad closure - May 23, 2024
We presently have two situations creating cloudy water issues in the City of Bathurst:
- fluctuating water pressure in the West Bathurst area.
- a main water line break in the vicinity of Coronation Park. This also impacts the splash pad area.
Water Line Flushing Operation
Public Works crews will be conducting targeted water line flushing operations across the affected areas — namely, West Bathurst and Downtown Bathurst.
Water Line Repair
Crews are currently working on identifying the issues related to the main water line break near Coronation Park. Repair work has been scheduled for Monday, May 27.
Splash Pad Closure
The splash pad located at Coronation Park will be closed as of today (May 23) until the repairs are completed. We expect to resume splash pad operations as of Tuesday, May 28.
We ask residents who notice water discoloration to please refrain from washing laundry, and periodically check their water quality by running COLD WATER for 10-15 minutes to verify if the water has cleared up.
