Bathurst City Council Motion: By-law No. 2024-11Z

At the Regular Public Meeting of Bathurst City Council on Monday, November 18, 2024, Council voted on the first reading of a motion to approve proposed By-law No. 2024-11Z entitled “A By-Law to Amend By-Law No. 2008-01 Entitled “The City of Bathurst Zoning By-Law””.

The intent of By-Law no. 2024-11Z is to modify certain provisions of the zoning by-law to:

Address some inconsistencies,
To grant additional approval authority to the Director of Planning to the extent that the Community Planning Act permits,
To implement new development standards based on the concept of gentle density including Accessory Dwelling Units,
To revise certain development standards applicable to residential and commercial zones in order to allow a wider range of residential uses.
