About the artist
Adrienne Elfner-Hazen is a distinguished maritime artist and educator who has dedicated over three decades to enriching the artistic community of Bathurst. After earning her B.F.A. in Fine Arts from the University of Calgary in 1987, she embarked on her creative journey by teaching ceramics in a South Tetagouche barn. Over the past 34 years, Adrienne has taught a wide range of visual arts, including drawing and children's art, nurturing the talents of countless students.
A founding member of the Bathurst Art Society, Adrienne served as President for 11 years, playing a pivotal role in shaping the local arts scene. She also co-founded the Little Gallery, which evolved into the Bay Breeze Art Gallery at the Promenade Waterfront in 2003. Adrienne's commitment to fostering unity and collaboration among artists extended to her involvement with ArtsLink NB, where she worked to promote and develop the arts throughout the region.
