Parks and Recreation Master Plan

Parks and Recreation Master Plan
  November 08, 2023

The Project

The City of Bathurst has identified the need for, and has prioritized the achievement of, a clear and comprehensive 10-year vision-driven plan for parks, trails, recreation facilities, open spaces, community programs, and service delivery.

A new Parks and Recreation Master Plan, supported by public and stakeholder engagement, will better align decisions involving capital and operating dollars, as well as partnerships with neighbouring communities, with long-term community and municipal fiscal priorities. The geographic scope is the City of Bathurst, with consideration of the broader Chaleur region as relevant.

The Process

The City has commissioned Sierra Planning and Management – a multi-disciplinary planning firm, to develop the Master Plan which will be established through a comprehensive public engagement process, complemented by a through analysis of current and projected community needs and best practices.
