NOTICE OF ROAD CLOSURE – EAST BATHURST BRIDGE

The City of Bathurst informs residents of the closure of a portion of Bridge Street, the location of the East Bathurst Bridge, on TUESDAY FEBRUARY 7th and WEDNESDAY FEBRUARY 8th. The closure is necessary as crews proceed to repair a main water line on Bridge Street, just west of the bridge.


UPDATE - 2023-02-09 @ 4:00PM:
Repairs have been completed and access to the bridge should resume at approximately 6:00PM tonight (February 9th).

UPDATE - 2023-02-08 @ 4:00PM:
As work crews continue their work on the main water line, please be advised that Bridge St. will remain closed overnight — Wednesday February 8th to Thursday February 9th.
Motorists should use the DETOUR VIA HIGHWAY 11 outlined below.
With no unexpected delays, regular access should resume by the evening of February 9th.

UPDATE - 2023-02-07 @ 1:00PM:
After a thorough site inspection, we've determined that work crews will be able to clear Bridge St. for afternoon & evening traffic.
You will be able to access Bridge St. between 4:00 PM on Tuesday, Feb. 7 and 8:00 AM on Wednesday, Feb. 8.
If your daily commute falls too close to these times, it may be a good idea to preemptively use the detour to avoid delays.
We thank you for your understanding and continued support as your Public Works crews repair this main water line.


DETOUR VIA HIGHWAY 11

● Traffic going to East-Bathurst from Main Street, Murray Avenue, will need to detour on King Avenue to access Highway 11.

● Traffic heading downtown from Bridge Street, Roughwaters Drive and Miramichi Avenue, will need to detour on Miramichi Avenue towards Highway 11.


CLOUDY WATER ADVISORY – EAST BATHURST AREA

Once the water line repairs are completed, residents in East Bathurst may be affected with cloudy water. It is advised to refrain from washing laundry and to periodically check your water quality by running COLD WATER for 10-15 minutes to verify if the water has cleared up.
