GENERAL GUIDELINES

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE APPLICATION FORMS

BATHURST-CAMPBELLTON FONDATION JEUX DU CANADA GAMES FOUNDATION INC.

1. GOALS

With this funding program, the Foundation wishes to encourage the development of amateur sports by offering financial help to athletes, coaches, major officials and sports organizations towards their pursuit of excellence.The Foundation inspires to increase exposure of New Brunswick athletes at the national and international level.Financial assistance for athletes, coaches and officials who participate in sports that are part of the Canada Games (winter or summer) will be our first priority.

2. ELIGIBILITY

The Foundation will give priority to the following:

1. Restigouche/Chaleur residents

2. Residents of other parts of New Brunswick

3. Residents of other Canadian provinces


FOR ELIGIBILITY: THE FOLLOWING STIPULATIONS MUST BE MET BY ALL WHO APPLY FOR ASSISTANCE:

3. ATHLETES MUST

· Be a member of a provincial sport’s association

· Be recognized as having the potential to compete at the national and/or international level.The athlete MUST NOT be a carded member of Sports Canada

· Report all other financial aid

· Must submit two(2) reference letters from either their actual coach, their PSO, or any other person that can confirm the athlete’s level or performance

4. COACHES MUST

· Be a member of a provincial sport’s association

· Be known as a coach with the potential to guide athletes to compete at national and/or international level

· Wish to improve national certification levels (level 4 and 5 for most sports)

· Report all other financial aid

· Submit two reference letters; one from their provincial sport’s organization and the other from any person who can confirm their competence as a coach.

5. MAJOR OFFICIALS MUST

· Be a member of a provincial sport’s association

· Be recognized as having the potential to officiate at the National and/or international level

· Wish to improve personal national certification levels

· Report all other financial aid

· Must submit two reference letters; one from their provincial sport’s organization and the other from any person who can confirm their competence as a major official.

6. SPORT CLUBS / SPORT ASSOCIATIONS MUST

· Be a member of a provincial sport’s association

· Must have support from their provincial sport’s association for the major event for which they are requesting funding

· Prove that the funding requested will improve the existing infrastructure and/or equipments in order to host a MAJOR event in our area

· Report all other financial aid

EVALUATION OF APPLICANTS

A committee designated by the Foundation will oversee and evaluate all applications for financial assistance, ensure a follow-up to each request and distribute the funds appropriately.

The committee will consider applications that have been correctly completed, signed and submitted before the deadline.

The committee or the Foundation will not reveal the reason or reasons for acceptance or refusal of any application.

OTHER DECISIVE FACTORS

The Foundation will not accept more than one request per year per applicant.

Any applicant that receives $2000.00 or more must wait a minimum of one year before submitting another application for funding.

The Foundation committee will not consider any applications from individuals or organizations who by any means or form will try to sway the decision of the Foundation committee.

All beneficiaries of funding, given by the Foundation, accept that their name be used in future publicity or promotion by the Foundation.

All beneficiaries must use funds received for the activity described in their application.Otherwise, they will be asked to reimburse the full amount to the Foundation.

Important dates:Submitting your application.

All requests for funding must be submitted to the Foundation before the appropriate deadlines:

· First Monday of March for spring and summer sports

· By November 9th, 2007 for fall and winter sports

Based on the allowed budget, funds will be distributed twice a year.

All applications must be correctly completed and submitted to the Foundation by the appropriate deadlines and sent to:
